Captain Don's pick: January 29th, 2010 Big Fish Restaurant is the latest and the greatest. This place has it all, great food, great service and and a wonderful atmosphere. Leck and Jana, previously with Geno's Fresh Catch Grill, opened this awesome restaurant. Very impressive. I have ordered the Holy Shrimp three times. I guess I will try something different next time. I will bring you more info and pics on my next report. Decmber 7th, 2009 Cobalt Restaurant is one of my favorites. The food is great and the big open, high ceiling along with the view of Terry Cove provides a great atmosphere. I enjoyed a Bison Burger for lunch with green beans and an iced tea. Healthy and light. They have a wide variety of food from steaks to seafood for lunch and dinner. November 29th, 2009 Cotton's in Orange beach is an older standing classic restaurant. You wiill enjoy a semi-formal/ casual atmosphere.(in other words, you are in Orange Beach and you may always be casual) Leigh and I enjoyed steak, lobster tail with baked potato and salad. So so good. Depending on your age, you will enjoy the older dark wood panneling on the walls. It makes me think of the 60's and 70's which provide some wonderful memories. June 27th, 2009 If you are looking a for some good food and a laid back atmosphere, then go to Lesters on Canal Road in Orange Beach. This is a favorite local place. They have seafood, chicken, pasta, steaks and much more. There is usually not a long wait like the restaurants along the beach. Give them a try. They are our little secret. The environment is casual and the food simple. Great sandwiches and baskets. March 20th, 2009 Geno's Fresh Catch Grill Geno's is now located upstairs at Zekes Charter Docks. The restaurant is larger and much nicer than the previous location. Same great food with a beter atmosphere. The big sushi bar is up front. Every seat has a great view on the water. January 14th, 2009 Cobalt Restaurant is just newly opened and is overlooking the water just inside Perdido Pass in Orange Beach, Al. This is class but you can still be casual. Remeber, this is Orange Beach. You can enjoy a beautiful view, very nice environment, good service and very tasty food. Leigh and I enjoyed the Yellowfin and Avocado Stack as an appetizer. This was very tasty but very light. I enjoyed a thick juicy filet mignon for my entree. I would recommend the sauce on the side since it was a bit spicy for steak sauce. Asparagus and potatoes were the sides. Leigh enjoyed the Grilled, Jumbo Gulf Shrimp as her entree. The shrimp was served with their creamy white cheddar, poblano grits with a oven roasted tomatillo sauce. I love the atmosphere with the high open ceiling. Very nice. Give this new restaurant a try.
