Gulf Shores Fishing

Orange Beach is only an eight minute drive from Gulf Shores. Enjoy Gulf Shores fishing and Orange Beach fishing from Alabama's nearest available access to the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. You will enjoy the short 15 minute cruise to the beautiful gulf waters  where it all begins.

It is very rewarding for me to see families enjoy this wonderful experience. This is a great place for families to spend quality time together without any distractions. All ages are welcome. Four year old seems to be a great beginning age for these youngsters to experience some great fun & fishing. A four hour charter is usually best for  the very young ones. However, many do well on the 6 hour trip. The Playstation II & the DVD player are also options for anyone that may get restless. 

Our boat, Getaway, is a 36 foot Custom Hatteras and is fully air conditioned. She was repowered with faster diesel engines one year ago. She is is also equipped with a clean oder-free bathroom, shower, microwave, flat screen TV, DVD player, stereo system inside cabin and and on the back deck with XM & Sirius Satellite radio. The Getaway has new paint inside and out and new carpet. She is nice and clean for you and your family comfort. The Getaway is equipped with the latest safety equipment including epirb, two VHF radios, Furuno 48 mile radar, Garmin GPS with satellite weather including Nexrad weather, Fireboy  automatic  fire extinguisher system and the other normal requirements.  The Getaway exceeds US Coast Guard requirements.

The interior of the boat is roomy with plenty of seating area. Enjoy the comfort while cooling off from the hot fishing action.  We have a Play Station II and DVD player for some added entertainment. The kids will probably be busy enjoying the outdoors but this is a great option. They never get bored.

The fish we specialize in include a variety. We practice conservation, so please let us know if you want to keep your fish. We offer true catch & release sportfishing or you may choose bottomfishing for some tasty fish to take home. The choice is always yours. If you enjoy true sportfishing, then offshore trolling trips are available for wahoo, mahi mahi ( dolphin) and always a chance to catch a tuna or marlin. Nearshore sportfishing trips include fishing for mackerel, bonita, redfish(fall & winter) and jack crevalle. Bottomfishing includes fishing for red snapper, vermillion snapper, triggerfish, white snapper, gag grouper, red grouper, scamp grouper and much more.  

Your fresh catch can be prepared by Wolf Bay Lodge at the marina just a few steps from our boat. Be sure to tell Gill, our deckhand, if you plan to take your fresh to one of the restaurants so he can properly prepare the fish. Gill, a former chef, will also share some of his great recipes for you to take home.

Gill, our deckhand, has three boys of his own and knows what it means for these young boys and girls to catch their first fish or to just have a very fun and positive experience. Gill has over 20 years of experience  as a deckhand on party boats, multipassenger boats, and 6-passenger boats. Gill enjoys the one-on-one contact and the assistance he can offer with each person on our 6 passenger boat. Whether you are a first time angler or one that has many years of fishing experience, Gill will offer his patience, friendliness, assistance and fishing knowledge to make your Orange Beach fishing charter the best it can be.

3 & 4 hour trips are trolling for mackerel & bonita (redfish in fall & winter) 6, 8, 10 and 12 hour fishing charters are bottomfishing with some trolling.  Offshore big game trolling trips and deepdrop fishing also offered.

Deepdrop fishing is a newer style of fishing in our area. We fish high tech, lightweight electric reels in depths over 800 feet of water for golden tilefish, snowy grouper, yellowedge grouper and much more. You never know what may come from these depths.
