The Red Snapper World Championship Tournament was a great  success last year. We are now excited about this new tournament that began April 4th and will continue through May 26th, 2008. There will be 8 categories of fish including grouper, amberjack, triggerfish, vermillion snapper, wahoo, king mackerel and more. As many of you know who have fished with me, we catch variety. This tournament is perfect for the Getaway. We are excited. We are now booking tournament dates on the Getaway and I have some available dates in May. Only $10 entry fee per angler for the tournament. Saltwater Series Tournament  

Red Snapper in June and July  This is the Captain's pick for you and your family or you and your group looking for a 6 hour fishing charter in June and July. We have an abundance of red snapper in our area. The season will be open for 2 months and closed for 10 months for the first time in history. Can you imagine the red snapper bite? We will have a morning and an afternoon trip each day. 

Our boat, Getaway, is a 36 foot custom Hatteras and  is fully air conditioned. She was repowered with faster twin diesel engines for 2008. She is also equipped with bathroom, shower, microwave, Flat Screen  TV, DVD, stereo system  inside cabin and on the back deck with Sirius   Satellite radio.

The interior of the boat has been completely remodeled and has a nice clean bathroom. We also have a Play Station II for some added entertainment. The kids can fish, play games or nap. You can also  bring your own DVD's or watch ours. 

The fish we specialize in include bottom fishing for gag grouper, red grouper, scamp, red snapper, vermillion snapper, white snapper, black snapper, triggerfish, amberjack, king mackerel, redfish and sharks. Nearshore trolling trips are also available for spanish mackerel and king mackerel. If you enjoy sportfishing then offshore trolling trips are available for tuna, wahoo, dolphin(also named mahi mahi and dorado) and marlin fishing. We also fish along the beach for big cobia (ling) in the Spring. The choice is yours. Come and enjoy one of the finest fishing charters along the Alabama Gulf Coast.

Your fresh catch can be prepared by Chef Geno. Geno's Fresh Catch Grill is just steps away from our boat here in Orange Beach. You can take a portion of your catch of the day to Geno and he will prepare your fish grilled, fried or blackened. You will enjoy this great restaurant. Our deckhand, Gill, also a former chef, will share some of his great recipes for you to take home.

Gill has over 20 years of experience fishing on party boats, multipassenger boats and 6-passenger boats. Gill enjoys the one-on-one contact and assistance that he can offer with each person on our 6-passenger boat. Whether you are a first time angler or one that has fished for many years, Gill will offer his patience, friendliness, assistance and fishing knowledge to make your trip the best it can be.

Types of trips

• Our 2 - 4  hour nearshore fishing charter is great for the group or family that is looking for a few  hours of fun and fishing. We have a morning trip and an afternoon trip. Spanish mackerel, king mackerel, bonita and sometime jack crevalle are often caught trolling nearshore. The 2 - 4 hour trip is also great for the family who wants to enjoy some sightseeing as we cruise along the beach and watch the dolphins swim around the boat while we fish. Stay the full 4 hours or come in early. • On the 6 hour fishing charter, we bottomfish for red snapper (6/1 - 8/5) and troll for Spanish and king mackerel. I beleive the red snapper fishing will be absolutely awesome during this short 2 month season. The remainder of the year, we bottomfish for vermillion snapper, white snapper and triggerfish. This is a great fishing charter for your family or you and your buddies. Come enjoy a half day of fun and fishing. Morning and afternoon trips offered. You are always assured to catch fish on this trip.
• The 8 hour fishing charter often produces white snapper, vermillion snapper, triggerfish, Spanish mackerel and king mackerel. Red snapper are caught in season, June 1st through August 5th.  
• The 10 hour fishing charter is an offshore bottomfishing trip. We often catch vermillion snapper, red snapper(in season), triggerfish, white snapper, king mackerel, scamp, amberjack and grouper. 
• The 12 hour fishing charter is our serious fishing trip. This is our best trip. However, this trip is not just for the guys. Many families also choose this trip and have proven they are serious anglers. The 12 hour trip usually produces a variety of deepwater fish including red snapper(in season), vermillion snapper, white snapper, triggerfish, gag grouper, red grouper, scamp, king mackeral, mahi mahi,  wahoo and amberjack.
•  Deep drop fishing in 400 - 700 feet of water with light weight, high tech electric reels. We will introduce deep drop fishing on a limited number of our 12 hour trips and offer you a chance to catch tile fish, snowy grouper, yellowedge grouper, warsaw grouper and more. We will still do our conventional fishing as usual.

• Offshore Big Game trolling trip is a full day of trolling for king mackerel, wahoo, dolphin(mahi mahi) and always a chance to hook into a tuna, sailfish or marlin.
