The Getaway and Another Getaway can accommodate up to 6 people. We have developed a reputation over the past decade of being very family oriented. However, we enjoy everyone from the first-time angler to the seasoned anglers. We provide our Gulf Shores fishing anglers a fun and pleasant experience on your choice of a 36' boat or a 46' boat. Both boats are clean, white and odor-free. You will also appreciate the clean bathrooms with shower, sink and toilet. Your first-class service will be provided by Gill or Howie, our deckhands. You will also enjoy one of our Captains, Don McPherson or Craig Demenzes. You will find your Captain and deckhand to be very friendly and professional along with many years of experience. First-time anglers love us. We are patient and offer plenty of assistance. Free fish cleaning is included with the 3, 4 and 6 hour fishing charters             The cost of fish cleaning on the 8, 10, 12hr and overnight charters is .30 per whole pound. All bait, licenses and tackle are furnished A fuel surcharge may be added to the cost of the 8, 10, 12hr and overnight charters if diesel prices are over $3.75 per gallon. If so, then there will be $100 added to 8, 10 & 12 hour charters. $200 may be added to overnight charters. The fuel surcharge will be determined by the price of fuel on the day of your charter. Description of Fishing Charters Offered

4hr trolling trip  Fishing nearshore in sight of land by trolling several baits behind the boat and/or sightcasting into a school of redfish. This is a very relaxing trip with your favorite music or peace & quiet. We often catch Spanish mackerel weighing from 2 - 5 pounds. King mackerel usually weigh 7 - 15 pounds but can weigh well over 30 pounds. Spanish mackerel are caught March through December. Kings are caught April through December. Big bull redfish weighing 20 - 30 lbs are caught mid October through early April and may be caught by trolling or casting light spinning tackle into a school of big redfish. 5hr  bottomfishing/trolling trip  This trip is great for the anglers who enjoy catch and release. We can catch and release some nice size fish on light tackle and also have a couple for dinner if you choose. This can be bottomfishing or a combination of bottomfishing and trolling.

6hr  bottomfishing/trolling trip This trip is popular for catching the famous red snapper. Red snapper may be kept Jun 1st- July 18th but can also be caught & released year round. These fish usually weigh from 4 to 8 pounds and common to catch 10 - 20 pound fish. Always a chance to catch the big one weighing 30 pounds. This is a blast on light tackle. We can also troll for Spanish mackerel & king mackerel in addition to bottomfishing. Other tasty fish including vermillion snapper, white snapper & triggerfish can be targeted year round with no closed season. Just let me know your preference. 8hr trip   Bottomfishing 20 - 30 miles offshore for red snapper, vermillion snapper, triggerfish, white snapper, lane snapper with addition to trolling for Spanish & king mackerel.   Book Now

10hr trip Bottomfishing approx 30 - 4o miles offshore for red snapper, vermillion snapper, lane snapper, triggerfish, white snapper, scamp grouper, gag grouper & amberjack. We also high speed troll for king mackerel & wahoo. A good chance to catch big fish.  Book Now

12hr trip   Similar to 10 hr trip except we travel 40-50 miles offshore. (12hr trip offered April - Sept 30th only)  Book Now

Offshore Big Game Trolling  offered June - September  Approx 12 hour trip) We travel approx 30 - 50 miles offshore and target wahoo, dolphin (mahi mahi) , white marlin, blue marlin and tuna. We place a spread of 5 lines behind the boat and slow troll. We use the latest up to date satellite imagery to locate blue water, water temp breaks and productive waters for these offshore species. July - Sept are best months. Book Now

Deepdrop fishing offered by request on 12 hr trips. Fish depths over 800 feet for tilefish, snowy grouper and more. Use our high tech power assisted reels. We all enjoy the suspense of waiting to see what the next fish will be. You just never know.     Book Now

18hr trip  Normal departure time is approximately 10:30pm. We travel to the offshore rigs and fish for blackfin and yellowfin tuna. Depending on the tuna bite, we may travel home or bottomfish for amberjack.

24hr trip  We normally depart at 1pm and travel to the offshore rigs approximately 70 miles offshore. We fish for yellowfin tuna and jig for blackfin tuna at night. We drift for swordfish during the night and fish for yellowfin tuna again in the morning. We depart approximately 8:30am and travel to the dock.  Book Now

36hr trip    This trip is very similar to the 24hr trip except we depart at approximately 6am and return at 6pm the following day. This is a combination of tuna fishing, deepdrop fishing and bottomfishing.   Book Now

How to book your fishing charter

Go to the Info/Reservation Request  and complete the brief form. I will respond by email or by phone to let you know if your requested date is available. You may then provide a credit card # by phone at 251-981-8047 or by return email at getawaycharters@yahoo.com to reserve your charter. This will hold your date and you may then pay on the day of your charter by cash, check or credit card. All credit cards accepted. However, checks and cash are appreciated. (Another option is paying a 50% deposit by check at the time of booking your charter and then paying the balance by cash or check on the day of your charter.)

• Rates are by charter, not per person. You may bring up to 6 people on the Getaway and Another Getaway. Maximum 6 people per US Coast Guard regulations.
• Gill and Colby, your deckhands, will be by your side to assist you throughout your charter. Suggested gratuity to your deckhand is 15-20% of the charter price.
• Fish cleaning, preparation and packaging is .30 per whole pound. Free fish cleaning on 3, 4 and 6 hour charters.
  
• No fishing license is required. We furnish all bait and tackle.

What to bring? Food, snacks, drinks, small cooler with ice, camera and sunscreen. No glass bottles please.

Directions to the charterboat Getaway :

Zekes Landing Marina address is 26619 Perdido Beach Blvd., Orange Beach, Al 36561(This is not a mailing address)

The charterboats Getaway and Another Getaway are located at Zekes Landing Marina in Orange Beach, Alabama. The Getaway is located on the west dock at slip A9 and Another Getaway is located at slip A10. Once you park in the parking lot at Zekes, walk down the dock, go to your left and walk past the dock store. We are the 2nd and 3rd boat slips from the far end. You will see the name GETAWAY on the back of the boat and on the dock box behind the boat. 

Directions once you arrive at Zekes Marina

Drive into the Zekes parking lot and find a parking space. The shuttle runs in the summer and will pick you up at your car and drive you to the dock entrance. Otherwise, park near the marina walk to the entrance.

Walk down the dock and take left toward the Dock Store.

Walk down the dock and look to your left. the GETAWAY is the 3rd boat slip from the far end.

Look for the name GETAWAY on the dock locker and on the back of the boat.
